2018 Shawnee County Fair

The annual Shawnee County Fair kicks off on July 25th, with events through July 29th. The fair is free to attend with free parking! Poetry Slam at the Jayhawk Theater

Calling all artists! Come to the Jayhawk Theater on July 27th to practice your craft in front of a crowd! Sponsored by the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, the poetry slam is open to all and is free to perform. Slam performers can register at the Jayhawk Theater starting at 6:30 pm and performances begin at 7:00 pm. One winner will be selected and will receive a cash prize of $50! To learn more, click here.
Rock & Food Truck Festival
Downtown Topeka, 9th and Kansas Ave
Live music and good eats are a perfect combo! Head downtown for an awesome Rock and Food Truck festival on July 28th, beginning at 3:30 pm. Concert goers can enjoy over 20 food trucks while listening to performances from FOUR Rock bands, including Departure, Black Water Mountain, ZZ-KC and the Big Rock Show.
