Boys & Girls Club of Topeka is a fantastic organization that Azura has been proud to partner with through our Community Impact Debit Card program, our associate volunteering efforts and various grants and donations.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka is an organization that provides before-school, after-school, and school day out programming for children in 14 locations across four school districts. The Clubs provide a safe place for young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
The programs that take place in the Club support Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. We also provide academic tutoring, social emotional support, and adult mentorship to kids in need of further support. During the past school year, when most schools were fully remote or on a hybrid model, we also provided safe remote learning locations to provide kids with academic support throughout their virtual school day.
Donations of time, talent, and treasure never go unnoticed at the Club. While we rely on monetary donations to support our day to day efforts, we are also deeply appreciative of volunteers who give their time. Mentorship is also needed now more than ever in order to provide kids with consistency and social emotional support after a year of so much uncertainty and so many changes.
Our 6th Annual Stuff the Bus event is going on right now! It is a fun way to get a group to join together to host a program supply drive to benefit the year-round efforts of BGCT, and we look forward to “Hitting the Road” in mid-July to personally pick up collected items and thank donors in person! Visit bgctopeka/stuff-bus to find out more!
If someone visits bgctopeka.org/ways-give, they will find many different ways they can support our Club through monetary contributions, Wish List giving, sponsorships and more. The website also has helpful information about volunteerism and mentorship. If a phone call is easier, Jennifer LeClair, Vice President of Development, is always grateful for the opportunity to discuss the many ways people can get involved in the Club! You can reach her at 785-234-5601 ext 307.
