As the arts grow, so grows the city! Recently you may have participated in a First Friday Art Walk, grabbed dinner at the Wheel Barrel or maybe a fresh style at Onyx Salon. If so, you’ve been enjoying the burgeoning community over the last several years in the North Topeka Arts District (NOTO).
Which means you’ve also likely seen some of the impressively creative, fantastical murals put into place by Jennifer Bohlander (Tattoo Artist/Owner at Matryoshka and Co Owner of The Wheel Barrel). These beauties feature elephants on parade, intricate storytelling in the letters of the word, “Topeka,” in Redbud Park and so very much more. She is constantly creating and evolving new looks for this beautiful arts district and the community waits excitedly whenever she announces that a new mural is coming to life.
